So, as advertised, here’s a long post on my process in creating an editorial. I’m doing this one because it’s a pretty uncommon situation in my practice — it happened so that a year ago I lost all the digital files for all the work I’d done before 2010, and now that I’m back in Russia, I felt the urge to recover them. That’s how I found myself looking at a sketchbook for a second year university project in which I did two spreads (3 images) for a Christopher Hitchens article Believe Me, It’s Torture, and thinking: “This one has a lot of potential — if only I could revisit it…”
