Part one of my children’s book.
This is yet another university project. The task was to make a book illustrating one of Roald Dahl’s poems, in my case - The Toad and the Snail. The choice of materials and techniques was up to us. The book was to be made, printed and bound as we saw fit, given that it looks professional. I looked into using transparent plastic to create several interactive spreads so as to involve the kids (seeing as my target audience is aged 5-7) in a fun game. The plastic that I used is as ‘kidproof’ as it gets. It doesn’t break or crack and is very flexible. I created etchings on each of such interactive spreads.  I used the same plastic for the covers, filing the corners so that they wouldn’t be scratchy. JPEGs take some colour out of it, the single hard copy I have in my possession is a lot more vibrant.
